Number of Players: 2 or more

Cards Used: 1 full deck of 40 kabufuda cards

Game Length: Not set

Goal: To get as close to 15 as possible

At the beginning of each round of play the dealer is decided by having each player draw a card from the deck. The player with the lowest card becomes the dealer. The dealer should sit opposite from the other players. The other players should sit in a circle in the order of their drawn cards, from right to left.

Play now begins. Each player bets a uniform previously established amount. The dealer shuffles the deck and passes it to each player. Any player can shuffle or cut the deck as they wish. Once they are all satisfied, the dealer deals one card face-down to each player and to himself.

Now each player, beginning with the dealer, does the following:

1. The player draws one card from the deck.
2. If he wants another card, and his total is not higher than 15, he may draw one.
3. Repeat step 2 until the player no longer wants any cards or has gone over 15.

After all the players have done as above the showdown begins. All cards are revealed. Players with totals over 16 are out and have to pay double their bet. The remaining player with the highest total wins. The winner receives the bets of all the other players. If there are two or more players tie for the highest total, they split the pot evenly. If all the players have the same total, the dealer wins. If all the players go over, the game is a draw.

There are two more special rules for Kingo. If a player's hand consists of three 5s, all players have to pay triple the bet. If a player's hand is one 4, one 5, and one 6, all players have to pay double the bet.
